"Geologist estimate the cave to be 400 million years old," explains the tour guide.
A place where incredible formations have taken shape and millions of memories have been made.
I mean even Lassie has been to Meramec Caverns, but this place that is so very old is latching on to something that's relatively new.
"A zipline consists of several towers with cables attached to each
tower," said Lester Turilli, the Vice-President of Meramec
Caverns. "You're hooked into a harness and you zip from one tower to
the next."
You're not alone, you have two guides to ease your anxiety.
"I would describe it similar to bungee jumping or skydiving, but safer," Turilli adds.
So once you've stepped into all of the safety
gear, climb about 72 steps to the top of the tower, and get about 20
minutes of instruction, your adventure begins with a zip across the
Meramec river.
